Venetian Plaster in Toronto

Looking for real Italian Venetian plaster in Toronto? Elite Plaster is the authorized Spiver dealer for Canada, 15 minutes west of downtown along the Gardiner. Toronto has no shortage of installers, but almost nowhere to actually buy authentic lime plasters over the counter. That is the gap we fill.

Living room interior with a plaster feature wall
One wall changes the whole room: the classic Toronto condo upgrade

Feature walls, condos and heritage homes

Most of our Toronto orders fall into three buckets: a single statement wall in a condo, a full living space in a house renovation, or a designer specifying finishes for a client project. Every product page carries the technical sheet, application videos and the full colour chart, so you or your installer can spec the job before ever driving out.

How Toronto customers buy

For designers and architects

We supply sample materials and colour charts for client presentations, and our Spiver line has over 50 years of history in Italian decorative finishes. If your firm specifies regularly, trade pricing applies to the studio account too.

What Venetian plaster actually is (and what it is not)

Real Venetian plaster is slaked lime and marble dust, trowelled in thin coats and burnished until it reads like polished stone. It is a family of finishes, not one product: Encausto Fiorentino is the classic marmorino with a soft marble surface, StuccoMarmo polishes to a higher gloss, and textured lime plasters like Scultura go the other way entirely, into sculpted relief. What none of them are: the "Venetian plaster effect" paints from big box stores, which print the look onto the surface instead of building it in layers. The depth you see in a real lime wall is physical. It moves with the light because it actually has geometry.

What Venetian plaster costs in Toronto

Two numbers matter and they get mixed up constantly. Materials: a complete system (matched primer, the plaster, protective wax or sealer) runs roughly $3 to $5 per square foot at 2026 store prices, so a 100 square foot feature wall is usually $300 to $500 in material. Installed: professional application in the GTA typically runs $12 to $25 per square foot depending on finish complexity and wall condition. Our full Toronto cost guide breaks both down, and the calculator prices your exact wall with live numbers in two minutes.

Buy it, learn it, or have it installed

We are the rare supplier that covers all three. Buy the materials with the technical sheets and application videos hosted on every product page. Learn the technique, hands-on workshops are being scheduled now (join the waitlist). Or have it installed by Elite Walls, our own installation company, working across Toronto and the GTA. The people selling you the bucket are the same people who trowel it for a living, which changes the quality of the advice you get at the counter.

Across the GTA

The shop serves the whole region, with dedicated local guides for Etobicoke, The Kingsway, High Park, Liberty Village, Yorkville, Rosedale, Forest Hill, Lawrence Park, North York, Mississauga, Vaughan, King City and Oakville. See all areas.

Common questions

Is this the same as the "Venetian plaster look" paints from big box stores? No. These are genuine lime-based Italian plasters, applied by trowel in multiple coats and polished. The depth is physical, not printed.

Can you recommend an installer in Toronto? Yes. Our sister company Elite Walls installs across the GTA, or we can point you to applicators who buy from us.

What does a Toronto feature wall cost in material? Most single walls land between $150 and $450 in material depending on the finish and size. Run yours through the calculator for an exact list.

How durable is Venetian plaster in a busy home? Sealed or waxed, it is harder than painted drywall and wipeable. Small damage is repairable by an applicator without redoing the room, which paint cannot claim.

Can Venetian plaster go over existing paint? Usually yes, with the correct grip primer, which every finish on our shop is paired with automatically. Uneven or glossy surfaces need the right prep coat, not more plaster.

How long does a feature wall take? Typically two to four days including primer, multiple coats and burnishing, because lime needs its drying windows respected. Beware anyone quoting one day for a polished finish.
